Sarasota offers its visitors and residents a variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. The beautiful beaches, like Siesta Key Beach and Longboat Key Beach, the breathtaking sunsets, amazing flora and wildlife are a perfect backdrop to a day or evening of enjoyment. Take in the open air venues such as the downtown market and informal concerts. Enjoy a volleyball competition on the beach, or cheer from courtside at a championship tennis match on Longboat Key. Or perhaps an evening enjoying a concert at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center then strolling downtown to one of the many fine restaurants to top off your night is more your style. The Sarasota Opera House and the Apollo Repertory Theater continuously delight audiences with spectacular performances. World renowned St. Armands Circle is just over the Ringling Bridge and boasts superb indoor and outdoor dining and shopping venues. There is always something going on! There is truly something for everyone in Sarasota! Here are just some of the events to take in during the month of November:

Nov. 1st, 8-11 pm, "Ringling Underground", Enjoy live music and art in the Museum of Art Courtyard. This event features an eclectic mix of local and regional live music. Check out up-and-coming artists displaying their work in the Museum of Art Courtyard. Select galleries will be open until 11:00pm. Tickets $15 for members and College Students with ID, Free with Art After 5 Admission.

Nov. 2nd, 6-9pm, “Music on Main". Free event. There are food and drink vendors. Come and enjoy live music for a great time on charming Main Street in Lakewood Ranch! Bring a chair. Dogs welcome but must be on leash. No coolers.

Nov. 2nd-4th, 10am-5pm, "Gem, Jewelry and Bead Show". Held in the Art Deco designed Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, a historic Sarasota landmark. Admission $5.

Nov. 2nd-4th, 10 am. "2018 Sarasota Boat Expo". Tickets $5 for 13 and older. 12 and under Free. Free parking. New model boats on display. Sit in on a session at the Captain Joe Fishing School and learn to throw a cast net, rig lures, tie knots and more!

Nov. 3rd, 10am-4pm, "Ferrari's on the Circle". Over 75 Ferrari’s competing for the coveted “Best of Show”. St. Armand's Circle is located just across the John Ringling Bridge from downtown Sarasota.

Nov. 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 7am-1pm, Downtown Sarasota Farmers Market. State Street and N. Lemon Avenue. Downtown Sarasota. Local produce, plants, prepared foods, artisans. Enjoy more than 70 vendors! Rain or shine.

Nov. 6th and 8th at 7:30 pm and Nov. 11th at 1:30 pm, "The Barber of Seville".   In this beloved opera, Dr. Bartolo plans to marry his ward Rosina, but she has other plans for her future. Figaro, the barber, comes to the rescue and assists Rosina in sneaking, scheming and plotting to marry her beloved Lindoro—secretly, the rich Count Almaviva. Ticketed event.

Nov. 9th-12th, "Siesta Key Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival".  See masters of sand sculpture transfer Siesta Key Beach into an art gallery of sand sculptures! Enjoy live music, food and drink, too!

Nov. 10th, 7:30 pm, "Doo Wop Spectacular Vol. 3 Caravan of Stars".  Come and enjoy enduring doo-wop music, with The Capris, Norman Fox & the Rob Roys, The Legendary Teenagers, Jimmy Gallagher, The Mystics, and The Super Girls Group all live at one big show! Ticketed event.

Nov. 10th and 11th, 10 am-5 pm, "St. Armands Circle Fall Art Festival".  Over 175 artists and craftsman display their original artwork. Pottery, Oils, watercolors, ceramics, jewelry, and sculpture. St. Armand's Park is surrounded by great restaurants and shops and just a short stroll over to the beach--make it a day of fun!

Nov. 11th, 10 am, "Sarasota Veterans Day Parade". Beginning at Main Street and Osprey Avenue, downtown, this is an opportunity to salute our Veterans.

Nov. 11th, 2pm, "Ski-A-Rees Water Skiing Show”. Enjoy this FREE water ski show!

Nov. 17th, “Sidewalk Astronomy”.  Telescopes will be set up to view the stars. Free and open to the public. Starts at sunset and ends around 10 pm. (weather-permitting). This month's Sidewalk Astronomy location is Riverview High School, on the Sidewalk outside the Planetarium theater.

Nov. 17th, 2 pm and 8 pm, "Manheim Steamroller Christmas" by Chip Davis. Features Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics along with selections from Chip’s groundbreaking Fresh Aire series which introduced the distinctive Manheim sound to all of America. Ticketed event.

Nov. 19th, 6pm, "Ringling By the Bay".  Live music and dancing. Food and beverages available for purchase on the bayfront.  Music by "Kettle of Fish". Admission $15, $5 for members. Very popular event. It is recommended to purchase tickets early.

Nov. 24th, 8 pm, "KC and the Sunshine Band".  Led by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, a Florida native, and his band are best known for hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Boogie Shoes” and “Rock Your Baby.” Sure to be a great night of entertainment! Ticketed event.

Nov. 24th, 5-9 pm, "Annual Light Up Siesta Key and Village Holiday Parade".   Festive décor and holiday atmosphere will Light Up Siesta Key. A community Christmas tree will be at the Village Gazebo. The Village Holiday Parade which will begin at Avenida del Mare and Beach Road at 5:30 PM traveling north on Beach Road onto Ocean Blvd. into the Village. Many businesses and local groups will be participating in the parade and welcoming Santa to Siesta Village. There will be live music and carolers.
